​Join Penguin Random House, the American Library Association, and fellow readers across the country for the second annual National Readathon Day on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Celebrate the joy of reading and giving during #Readathon2016 by raising funds while joining fellow readers for a day of reading. Funds raised during #Readathon2016 will benefit the Every Child Ready to Read initiative, a program that supports the early literacy development of children in libraries across the nation.

Here’s how you can celebrate the day:

1. Join a reading party in your community or host your own party for friends and fellow readers. Go to the Reading Parties page to browse helpful tips and downloads or to find a reading party near you.

2. Support literacy efforts by helping to raise funds for the American Library Association’s Every Child Ready to Read initiative, a program that supports the early literacy development of children from birth to age five in libraries across the nation. Click here to contribute, and be sure to share with friends and family!

3. Join Readathon Day fun on social media, using the hashtag #Readathon2016, and visit the Share page to find images and videos, and to join local reading parties.
